MOGNET

INTRODUCTION
What is Mognet?
Mognet is the favored communication method in the world Vaikuntha. It is an instant messaging service that can be used thanks to iMog Slates. Regardless of one’s allegiances or home, Mognet can be used by all for free by everyone.

What are the communication options with Mognet?
Mognet allows communicating with other users through four different mediums: voice, video, text and holograms. Text and video feeds are displayed upon the tablet’s screen while voice feeds are channeled through the tablet’s speakers. Holographic communications will project above the screen a three-dimensional translucent and miniature image of the sender. It is possible for two interlocutors to use different methods to communicate. One can send a video message while the other opts to reply with text. There is also a Mog Mail option, for digital yet not instantaneous messages.

Users can create Linkshells. Linkshells are groups to which your characters can add specific users to make communication with certain easier. This way, messages can be shared instantaneously with all members of a certain Linkshell. All player characters are automatically part of the Kali Shashidhwaja Linkshell. This Linkshell includes all player characters (those who were rescued from the Interdimensional Cloud and Native OCs) as well as certain NPCs. It is impossible to leave this Linkshell, though it is possible for characters to rename it however they like on their device.

Users can add people to their friend or black lists. However, everyone will be able to see messages sent in the Kali Shashidhwaja Linkshell and will be able to reply to them regardless of black listing status. Messages are sent instantaneously and users will be notified on their device whenever they receive a message or whenever someone posts in one of their Linkshells. Unread messages will be stored for 30 days before being automatically deleted.

What is an iMog Slate?
iMog Slates are tablets the people of Vaikuntha use to communicate through Mognet. Player characters are given one for free upon being rescued from the Interdimensional Cloud. It is possible to purchase accessories to facilitate use of the tablet’s functions. iMog Slates are primarily used for Mognet, but they also have other functions, such as digital storage and the possibility to track Job advancements. It takes 6 hours to fully recharge the slate, and it will last 30 days if left in sleep mode, 3 days if used constantly. Upon being broken, tablets must either be repaired or repurchased.

What is a Mognet Strike?
Sometimes, Moogles will go on strike and made demands, causing Mognet to either glitch out or not work at all. No one really knows why these strikes happen anymore, though some conspirationists believe they have found a pattern and claim strikes coincide with the release of new Kupo Nuts and celebrations where the Moogles all eat together… No one really knows. Players will be notified when such strikes happen.

Assigned Moogle

All player characters have a Moogle assigned to them. The assigned Moogles will be tasked with assisting the player characters in any possible way. Moogles will handle configuring the tablet for them and will help them with any issue they encounter. Because iMog Slates are Moogle creations, only them can repair it if it breaks, or configure accessories upon purchase. They will repair tablets for free, but will require a fee if the tablet is broken beyond repair.

The Moogle assigned to your character is basically an OC for you to build from the ground up. They’ll stick by your character from the beginning to the end of their journey, will have their own unique personality and motives, and can be the source of many shenanigans. Players who were formerly in Melodies of Life can choose to have their Moogle come with them in this new world and continue serving as their assigned Moogle. Please check the Moogle page for more details regarding assigned Moogles.

FEATURES
iMog Slate Interface
Upon turning on the iMog Slate, characters are greeted by a 16-bit Moogle sprite before the main screen appears. The screen is blue, with a portrait of your character on the left side, along with anyone they’re currently working with. Next to your character’s portrait is your character’s name, currently equipped Job and their advancement toward learning their next skill. On the right side of the screen is a menu to access the device’s functions:

Mognet
Selecting this command gives access to the Mognet Home Menu. It automatically starts up on the Kali Shashidhwaja Linkshell and lets you see what other users have posted. You can navigate between your different Linkshells, check your notifications, manage your friend list and of course, communicate with others. There are also special feeds which can be accessed anytime by anyone in the world:

- News
News is where the latest news about what has happened in the world are being posted. You can narrow it down by regions and cities. Very important news will be automatically notified to player characters.

- Weather Channel
The weather channel is where broadcast about weather are being posted. Unfortunately, it is wrong 90% of the time, so no one really bothers checking it.

- Mognet Central
This is where official messages from Mognet Central are being posted. Very important messages and strikes will automatically be notified to player characters.

- Quest Board
This is where offers for one-time jobs are posted. These quests can be very dangerous, but they’re generally a good way to gain experience and money.

- Advertising
This is where all the spam no one cares about is being sent, including yours if you want to advertise about your new shop!

• Moogle This command is to automatically get in contact with your assigned Moogle, no matter where they are or what they are doing, they will reply within 60 seconds. Don’t abuse this function, lest you drive them insane and make them consider murder as a viable option.

• Map Using this will allow you to see a map of Vaikuntha. The map is basic and only shows what the planet looks like: you’ll have to synchronize your iMog Slate with every city you visit to unlock information about the cities and their surroundings. There is no GPS either, so don’t count on this map if you get lost.

• Jobs Using this function will allow to see all the Jobs possessed by oneself and will allow instantly swapping between Active/Passive Jobs and the Stored Jobs. This cannot be used in the midst of battle. This function cannot be used to see the Stored Jobs of another character.

• Eidolons This function only appears for those who picked the Summoner Job. It allows to see the unlocked Eidolons and what effects they’ll have if summoned in their various forms.

• Gear This command allows to change the gear assigned to each Job upon swapping. This way, upon swapping from a mage to a warrior Job, you’ll automatically be ready and in the right gear!

• Skills This command will display what are the available skills to your character, along with descriptions of what the skills can do. It is possible to swap between the Active, Passive and Stored Jobs to see what each of them do. The listing also displays Modifier and Supreme skills, should they have been unlocked. Modifier Skills of the currently Passive Jobs are also shown in the bottom right corner when looking up the currently Active Job, as the Modifier Skills affect how the Active Job is played. You cannot see the skills of party members.

• Status This function allows seeing your status as it is with the currently equipped Job. It includes the stats as shown on the Job Page, the Modifier Skills, as well as any resistances or weakness to status ailments due to a particular skill. You cannot check the status of party members.

• Melodies This function currently does not exist and will be added at a later point.

• Datalog The Datalog is where characters can take note or scan digital books and media to store them and check them anytime.

• Config The Configuration Menu is where characters can change the appearance of the iMog interface. They can change the font, background color, the way things are displayed, etc.

• Help The Help Menu is where everything written above is ICly explained to the characters if they don’t know how to use their iMog device. Handy, isn’t it?

Furthermore, the iMog device shows what time it is and your current amount of Gil, if you connected your iMog device with your bank account.

ACCESSORIES
You must keep the iMog Slate to use these accessories, but they’ll make it easier for you to use Mognet! For a very fair price, they are as follows:

• Flip Mog (5 000 Gil) This device looking just like a flip phone is smaller and prettier than the base tablet. If screen size doesn’t matter to you and if you prefer to have a physical keyboard over touch controls, this is for you!

• Mog Watch (50 000 Gil) Tired of pulling out your tablet every time you want to do something? The Mog Watch is for you! Connect it to your tablet and all of its functions will be displayed on this magnificent watch!

• Mog Glasses (150 000 Gil) Tired of having to do anything at all? Just put on these glasses, connect them to your iMog Slate and never again will you have to pull a device out of your pocket! These glasses respond to voice command and are the ultimate solution for lazy Moogles and Humans alike!

• Mognet Module for Airship (50 000 Gil) This special module will allow you to have access to all of your iMog Slate function through your Airship’s computers.
