Quest Giver: The town of Duwang
Summary: Duwang is a beautiful town located on the coast near Lavode. It's small enough that it doesn't attract too much trouble, but large enough to be tourist stop for travelers that cannot afford to visit Lavode. Recently a horde of Yellow Elementals have been regularly invading the town's outskirts, killing dogs, farm animals and generally terrorizing the population and tourists out on picnics.
As many of the locals are Hypello, they fear their natural affinity towards water will be a weakness against the Elementals, thus they seek the aid of landwellers. The town representative, a Hypello dressed in a white captain's coat and is experiencing an early mid-life crisis, asks that at least 5 people work together to hunt down these Elementals and destroy them. He believes there are 5-10 total and recommends using the landscape to corner them at the ocean cliffs. After a curt explanation, he turns back and mutters good luck.
Time Limit: From May 01 - June 30
Reward: 500 gil and a free pass to the local Fantasy Italian restaurant.

Selection Process: One of the problems I have with magic is that, as a person who comes from a universe relatively grounded in physics and scientific laws and is a product of that kind of rationality, it's just really, really hard to take things on faith. So, as exciting magic is for me, taking a purely magic-based job would require me getting over some significant mental blocks to actually do anything with it.
Which is why Magitek Knight seemed perfect to me! All the effects of magic, but filtered through easily-understood scientific principles backed up by years of experimentation. Suffice to say, the prospect of not only taking magic into my own hands and molding it to my will through technology is breathtaking to me, and I'm proud to say I've made quite a few breakthroughs and will hopefully continue to innovate! Although for obvious reasons it's difficult to fully test biological integration, I believe I am making headway, and hopefully I can create a truly unique Magitek "Armor."
Guild Impressions: It was like paradise! Rational minds all around, magiteknical wonders, workshops, labs, seminars... I'm looking forward to going there again and officially applying for my own lab and the accompanying tools, and not just because I'm worried I might face legal action if I accidentally burn down my house with my experiments.
Most Useful Skills: Oh, this is a toughie, primarily because all of the skills I have available to me at the moment have incredible utility. But if I had to pick... I'd go with the boring, yet practical, choice of Magitek Bullets. An elemental ranged attack that hardly has any recharge time is invaluable in the field, as it allows me to exploit elemental weaknesses without worrying about recharge time from my Lasers, which are a delight all on their own.
Similar Jobs: Not really, no. Like I mentioned previously, my universe is mostly grounded in the physical, and what little magic there is can't be used by humans. There is an entire genre of entertainment that's basically dedicated to the concept of a bunch of Master Magitek Knights fighting, though!
Satisfaction: 9/10. I have to admit, the sheer cool factor of this job was a large draw factor, and I was not disappointed. The versatility--melee, ranged, elemental--is mind-boggling, and the room for experimentation gives way to all sorts of thrilling possibilities. Perhaps the one complaint that I have is that it's occasionally difficult to keep up with other jobs in their areas of expertise, but hopefully that'll be rectified in a few months when I get the chance to finally put out Project Titan for the world to see.

I need a compact power source for a personal Magitek project, and I was hoping I can round up a few people to help me get to the location of the crystal vein, harvest what I need, and get out. It's really deep in the tunnels, so if you're thinking of accepting this job, be aware that it's probably going to be a multi-day affair. Pack a lot of vitamin D!
Time Limit: This was publicly released information, so we'll need to get on the lead ASAP if we want to get ahead of other groups after the crystals. We don't have a lot of time to spare. (ICly, this quest will start on June 7th, and Connie and crew will have three days to get to the crystals before another group swooces in and takes them ICly. Take as much time as we need to OOCly.)
Reward: I'm willing to auction off whatever crystals I don't need and split the gil with everybody involved as thanks.

Summary: Be’Naadict and Beaatrik are rival Bangaa craftspeople. Both are respected in their circles, however, they cannot seem to abide one another. They are endlessly sniping at one another, trying to show each other up and prove their greater wit and skill to the other. Their friends and family are convinced that if only they would stop fighting for a moment, they would realize how perfect they are for one another.
Enter the matchmaking Heroes! If they can help these two forget their rivalry and see each other anew, they will be rewarded with a bag of 5000 gil and some handmade chocolates to give to the Heroes’ chosen loved ones.
