EMPLOYMENT
If you want your character to take on an employment, this is the place to request it. ICly, they'll have to send a letter to Cid and Claire who will then have their request proceeded and forwarded to the employers for each respective jobs. By default, all employments are part-time, but characters can chose to work more than required. All occupations are paid of course, depending on how much time they spend working (except going to school, this is not paid). Some jobs have requirements-- If your character doesn't fit the requirements, they cannot take on the job. Characters can start their own business as well! There is a form below to start a business. If you want for your character to be to be hired in a business started by another character, please contact the player of said character. Characters start with the base salary, and every month they can get + 1000 Gil until they reach the maximum of 15000 gil above their starting salary. Unless mentioned otherwise, each promotion equal + 5 000 Gil to their salary, regardless of the maximum. For certain of these employments, there may be promotion. It is faster to get promotions if your character was already doing this job back home (for example, soldier). However, everyone can do it. There are requirements to obtain a promotion besides times, namely participating in events and making posts proving your character actually do this job. The Numbers are a total; you need to have six logs total to get the final rank in the military, not six new logs since the last rank. 765-2 Productions [Varies] Description: The 'Vaikuntha Branch' of Azusa’s agency from back home where Wendy, her Moogle companion and producer, helps Azusa find work acting and performing wherever and however she can. Hiring: no Location: Sparks Golsaucia Characters: Airship Pilot [60 000 Gil - 75 000 Gil] Description: Characters choosing to become a pilot for one of the many airship airlines better enjoy traveling, because that's exactly what this job is all about. They'll be asked to pilot airships during commercial flights once in a while, and will be stuck in the destination city until the return trip. Those reaching the rank of Captains have the privilege to be able to use their Airships without following the schedules or itinerary, therefore they can go wherever they want when they want, and of course take what passengers they want. Qualifications: Characters signing-up for this Job need a pilot permit. If they already know how to pilot Airships, they can get it in a matter of days. Otherwise, they can study for it. His main studio and boutique are here, where he creates and sells his masterpieces. He is now hiring as a modeling agent, seizing on the opportunity of the "exotic" outworlders. Working at the Chocobo Farms will lead them to take care of other characters' Chocobos and do all sorts of thankless farm work. No experience needed Location: Yun'Ashia Characters: Curti Center Employments [10 000 Gil - 25 000 Gil] Description: Characters who wish keeping their house in the Curti Center will be offered to take on a basic part-time jobs as listed below. This will give them the authorization to stay. It doesn't pay well compared to other jobs and there are no promotions, but it comes with free housing and food. Positions: Cook, Researcher, Dream Width Pilot, Gardener, Secretary, Janitor, Nurse, Security Guard. Qualifications: Past experiences required for Cook, Researcher, and Pilot. Past experience or appropriate Job required for Nurse. Characters: [AU] Papyrus (Researcher), [OU] Plague Knight (Researcher) Street Cleaner/Janitor [40 000 Gil - 55 000 Gil] Description: The city streets are always so clean. Not only the streets, but the castles and buildings as well. It's not thanks to magic, but thanks to people working hard behind the scenes to make it so. Your character can chose to help keeping the city shining. It's not the best job around, but they may happen to eavesdrop on interesting things in a while. If you want your character to eavesdrop on something, please contact a mod and we will give you something. It may be meaningless or actually important. You can do this once per month. Customer Service (Assorted) [45 000 Gil - 60 000 Gil] Description: There are various tourist destinations across the map of Vaikuntha, and as long as people take vacations, these places will need hosts, tour guides, etc. Positions will vary based on location. Examples: Tour Guide (PuPuand, Cactuar Island, etc), Host/Card Dealer (Sparks Golsaucia), Traveling Ear-plug Salesperson (Amico Singing Association) Qualification: Varies based on position, but mostly patience and the ability to fake a smile. Characters: [OU] S'reee (Tour Guide: Ka'Pandol) Doctor / Nurse / Healer [70 000 Gil - 85 000 Gil] Description: There are never enough doctors and nurses to take care of all the sick people, of all the wounded. Characters going for this job better be prepared to see some things they wish they'd have never seen before. But on the bright side, they'll be able to save lives. Healers have a 5 000 Gil bonus, whereas Doctors have a 10 000 one to their salary. More expensive cities pay better, and the pay grade is higher in large hospitals than small clinics. Item Shop Employee [50 000 - 65 000 Gil] Description: The main (and only) advantage of working in this chain of old item shops is getting a 50% discount on everything sold in the shop. Otherwise it's a pretty boring job, mainly sitting behind a counter at one of its multiple locations and waiting for non-existent clients. Qualification: N/A Characters: [AU] Papyrus (Von Oktavia)
The Koopa Times (Sparks Golsaucia [50 000 - 65 000 Gil] Description: The Koopa Times is a business dedicated to spreading news to Vaikuntha. This newspaper company run by Bowser mostly reports on events regarding the Heroes of Light and the major global events they become involved in, such as the averted apocalypse and related time loops that occurred. However, the company also delivers other world news. Overall, the main purpose is to simply capture true epic struggles of good and evil in the papers. Be the heroes of these stories Heroes of Light, or anyone with a story to tell, the Koopa Times will tell them, and keep the public informed of the things they should know. The Lady of Bliss Description: 'The Lady of Bliss', the crown jewel of entertainment! If there's a song in your heart or a tale that must be told, the Lady opens her doors to you and bids you welcome! The Lady houses concerts, all forms of drama and comedy, and cabaret. We are the dreamers.... Hiring: Looking for actors/actresses, performers (singing/dancing), stage hands/technicians, costume makers, bartenders, cooks for refreshments, and ticket sellers! Location: Sparks Golsaucia Characters: [OU] Madhuri, [OU] Kuja, [OU] Matilda Vande, [OU] Adrien Agreste (part time) Library Employee [55 000 Gil - 70 000 Gil] Description: Employees at the library get to sort books, answer very obvious questions whenever people can't be bothered looking for the book they want and most importantly, they get to live in the company of silence. Military [70 000 Gil - 85 000 Gil] Description: Characters deciding to become a part of the military will be sent to the capital of the respective country they serve and given a pass allowing them to board Airships going there for free. There they will have to undergo both physical and mental tests to determinate whether or not they're fit for the army. If yes, they will be sent to on the behalf of the nations they serve. Characters getting promotions for this employment will have to specialize in regular military or air military upon reaching the rank of Major. Upon reaching the rank of Colonel, this will change a lot. Army Colonel will have at their disposals a lot of NPC soldiers, a hundred which they can use. Air Colonel have a lot less, but they will be offered command of a military Airship. Colonels get a + 10 000 Gil bonus to their salary rather than a 5 000 one like for other promotions. Qualification: At least one Job aimed toward attack, characters will go through both physical and mental tests. If deemed physically unfit or mentally unstable, they will not be admitted in the army. Mognet Employee - Delivery Person [50 000 Gil - 65 000 Gil] Description: Delivering mail is something Moogles excel at, but sometimes they just cannot do it. In these cases, characters are welcome to do it in their place-- They'll be a lot slower than Moogles and will have to use Chocobos or Airships, but that's not a bad thing. And on top of it all, the obligatory costume for the job is a Moogle disguise! Qualification: Being able to wear a Moogle costume. Characters: Mognet Employee - Store Worker [30 000 Gil - 45 000 Gil] Description: Every day, hundreds of people break their slates or just can't figure out how to open their MogMail account. For them, there's the MogNet Store located in every major city! Employees are expected to assist customers who want to purchase new products and troubleshoot their issues, while those in higher positions can become store managers. Qualification: Knowledge of the electrical components and/or software of the iMog Slate. Characters:
Phoenix Metalworks [60 000 Gil - 75 000 Gil] Description: Blacksmithing service taking on apprentices. Hiring: Not presently Location: Nakagawa Characters: [OU] Castor Westmoore Police / Law Enforcement [60 000 Gil - 75 000 Gil] Description: The world of Vaikuntha is a place like any other, with criminals and idiots causing chaos once in a while; not to mention a bunch of unpredictable heroes. Characters signing up for this Job are tasked with enforcing law and keeping their chosen city free from crime! Or, trying to anyways.... Upon reaching the final rank, they'll have authority in all cities within the domain of the country. Qualification: Characters will go through a physical test and a mental one. If deemed physically unfit or mentally unstable, they will not be admitted in the army. They will also go through a test about the country's laws. It should take about a week for characters to be ready for this test. Characters: Finn (Inspector), Vimes (Lieutenant), Tyzias (part-time), Ultra Magnus (Captain), Corrin (Law Officer)
Private Intelligence [45,000 - 75,000 Gil] Description: Someone's got to be the light that ends up right where people in power don't want anyone to look. Someone's got to be able to dig up any information you might need to protect yourself, your business, or the people you'd like to protect. Or maybe you'd simply like the knowledge of how someone would breach your security without the risk of actually losing life or property. That's what Investigators are for. Hiring: Yes Qualifications: Experience in stealth, subterfuge, hacking, and investigatory sciences are highly recommended. Hazardous situations may become a possibility. Grey to black market goods are within reach of any intelligence agent. Investigators are paid and are expected to anticipate responsibilities based off of these positions: -Private Investigators are expected to fulfill the needs of clients of whom are considered only citizens. Jobs include finding someone's missing cat or figuring out if a client is being cheated on. Salary roughly 45,000 gil. The starting point for all Investigators. -Police Consultants are expected to fulfill the needs of police offices and to employ technical skills to aid their investigations. Jobs include forensics for violent crimes and shadowing known criminals. Salary roughly 60,000 gil. -Corporate Agents are expected to fulfill the needs of a corporation, organization, or private interest group. Jobs include stealing prototypes and testing security protocol for larger organizations. Pay works out to around 65,000 gil. -Government Operatives are the best of the best, and are expected to fulfill the needs of a national interest. Jobs include digging up dirt on national enemies and political opponents, and destabilizing threats to the public safety. Professional Blitzball Player [80 000 - 300 000 Gil] Description: There are Blitzball Teams in every cities and all of them are looking to get the best players. If your character is one such player, then they may just get hired in one of the professional team. Replacement players get a 10 000 Gil bonus to their salary, whereas Permanent players get a 20 000 one on top of it. Qualification: Being an exceptional Blitzball Player. School [0 Gil] Description: The schools welcome all children from 5 to 17 years old and follow the basic courses with specialized tutoring for those new to this world. Highly recommended for young children, with boarding houses for younger students and dormitories for older students. This housing will still be free after the grace period. Qualification: Being less than 17 years old. Characters: Tyzias (college) Stiletto Description: Stiletto is a host club and provides a different sort of entertainment than the casinos and bars in Sparks Golsaucia. Everyone likes to get special attention with lovely people in an intimate environment, and Stiletto provides. Hiring: Yes; outgoing people preferred for host positions, but also hiring for bartender, chef, waitstaff Location: Sparks Golsaucia Characters: Traveling Storyteller Description: Uendo is trained in rakugo, or comedic storytelling, as well as traditional Japanese music and dance. Rakugo requires very few props and while it's meant to be performed in small theaters, it can be done practically anywhere as long as you can put a make-shift stage together. Pubs, schools, hospitals, even prisons -- give him a cushion to sit on and he can keep any audience entertained!
