Player Name: The alias you go by. Age: Reminder you need to be at least 15 to play here. Personal Journal: Leave N/A if non applicable. Contact: Discord, Plurk, e-mail, whatever else. Other In-Game Characters: Leave N/A if not applicable. Character Name: Name of your character. Age: Age of your character. Please put an approximation if your character's age is unknown. Gender: Whichever gender your character identifies as. Canon: The canon your character is from. Canon Point: The canon point you will play them from. History: A Wiki Link will be enough. Otherwise, please write around 300 words to detail your character's history in their canon. This is so that mods who may be canon-blind will have an understanding of the character's background. Personality: At least 400 words explaining who the character is, their motivations, their strengths and weaknesses, etc. To aid this process, here are some questions we would like to see addressed: • Pick 6 traits to describe your character – 2 positive, 2 negative, 2 of either kind/neutral. Expand on each of them (they can be a 1 sentence clarification or part of a large paragraph, depending on how integral they are to the character). • How did the character's backstory and major events in their life/canon caused them to develop the way they are? • What are your character's motivations? • What impression do other characters have of yours in-universe? How true are those impressions? • How does your character handle difficult/dangerous situations, conflict, or any negative scenario? We do expect examples from their history to be provided when discussing their personality. However, we want to see an analysis of their personality, and not a timeline summarizing their lives. Samples: Two different RP samples; it can be from a previous game, from the test-drive meme, from a musebox, from dear-mun or something totally new. All samples should be less than one year old, safe to read at work or public places, and at least one must be a thread with another character. Vaikuntha Moogle Name: Name of your assigned Moogle. Moogle Gender: Gender of your Moogle. First Job: The Job your character will have equipped once they visit the appropriate Guild. Second Job: The second Job they'll be equipped with. If you would rather them not to have two Jobs, leave N/A. Melody: Melodies are attacks (or healing/defensive moves, etc) characters can call upon when they're on death's doorsteps. A last resort of sorts. Name and write the Melody that your character will have access to. Melodies are independent of the Job system, and can be a power they once had in their homeworld. It can be overpowered, but within reason. SAMPLE APPLICATIONS OU - Tidus (FFX) CRAU - Sparks Nevada (Thrilling Adventure Hour) OC - Ena (Pathfinder) Native AU - Guy Cecil (Tales of the Abyss) OU/Regular Application For AUs, Game Transplants and OCs (include Native OCs), there are different requirements for the personality section. Please write 300 words if no link exists. Alternate History: Write here how the history of this character differs from their canon-self. Again, 300 words expected if not using a wiki link. Personality: Write the personality of your character in your AU, with the same standards than for an OU app. On top of the expectations we have for regular personality sections, here we also expect to see comparisons made between the original self and the alternate self, pointing out their differences and similarities. CRAU/Game Transplants Former Game: The game(s) your character was in before. Canon History: A Wiki Link will be enough. Otherwise, please write around 300 words to detail your character's history in their canon. Game History: What happened in your character while he/she was in their game(s). Alternate History: If you character was also an AU. Personality: On top of regular expectations for a personality section, here we want to see how their personality changed and evolved in their previous game(s). We also expect to see examples regarding what happened to them in their previous game to justify the personality changes. Original Character World History: The history of the world your character comes from. Please be specific, at least 500 words here. Character History: The history specific to your character; again 500 words please. Native OCs Native OCs may have longer applications to fill out, as a Native OC can be an a version of a different OC, a Fandom AU, a CRAU or a Canon Character. As your character is native to this world, you are expected to pay particular attention to the publicly released information about the game. Furthermore, you have write information pertaining to who your native OC is and who they used to be in their past life. Both personality sections should be similar enough for the Native OC to be recognized as the reincarnation of who they once were, but also different to show how they now are in this new life. What are Native OCs? Native OCs are characters born in the world of Vaikuntha. They are hired by the Curti Center to help the newly rescued characters from the Dream Width. With the larger than usual influx of rescued characters, the Curti Center cannot handle them all on its own. Native OCs are expected to help the rescued characters adapt to life on Vaikuntha and guide them as necessary. They have access to the same Mognet rights than everyone else and will have a Moogle assigned to them to work with them. As the truth behind their past lives get revealed, they may realize they are not so different from characters who were found in the Dream Width. What about their past life? In their past life, Native OCs were either Canon Characters, OCs, Fandom AUs or CRAUs. At some point they died, under unknown circumstances. Following their death, they were reborn on the world of Vaikuntha. The circumstances of their death in their past life will be a part of their character arc. As Native OCs share the same gift than the characters rescued from the Dream Width, they will take part in Events and Players Plots just like them. Must I write a story for their life on Vaikuntha? Yes. As their story begins, Native OCs have no clue their souls originated from another world. They may have a slight feeling that they were missing something in their lives, perhaps that they didn't really belong there, but otherwise Vaikuntha is their home. They were born there, in one of the main cities. However, Native OCs born within the Empire are not allowed at the moment. An application for a native OC must include elements pertaining both to who they are now and to who they used to be. Are there different sample requirements for Native OCs As with other types of characters, we expect at least 2 samples, with at least 1 with a different player. One or both the samples should be written in the AU-verse. My character was a a Mi'qote in their past life, can they still be one? No, Native OCs must be from one of the species found on Vaikuntha. It is recommended to pick the species closest to what they used to be. Does my Native OC have a Job? Employment? Anything? Native OCs were recently hired by the Curti Center. As such, they receive a monthly wage for their effort of 45 000 Gil. They start off with a Job and a bonus of 200 exp in it, as they probably started learning their Job long before Melodies of Eternity started. They can take on multiple Jobs like the other characters can. Native OCs can start off with an housing in one of the main cities. However in an effort to be fair to everyone, please refrain from having your Native OC already own an Airship, from being rich, or from having an important social position in the world. They are regular citizens and the truth of their past will come to light as the story progresses. Indeed, it will be possible for them to regain the memories of their past life at some point. |
